Capture the Stories Before They Slip Away.

The Living Legacy Project partners with memory care communities to offer guided life-story sessions for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, and cognitive decline. Our guides are trained for this work: patient, adaptable, and skilled at drawing out memories that are still there.

A guided story session with a memory care resident

Families know the window is closing. Most don't know there's a way to act on it.

When a parent or grandparent is diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia, one of the first things families feel alongside grief and fear is urgency. The stories are still there. The voice is still there. But not for long.

Most families want to capture something. They don't know how to begin, and the emotional weight of the situation makes it even harder. The Living Legacy Project gives them a trained, compassionate guide to do it before the window closes.

Early and mid-stage is the critical window. Memories are still accessible. A skilled guide can draw out stories in ways that family visits miss, and preserve them permanently.
Families feel helpless during this period. Offering a concrete, meaningful action they can take is one of the most valuable things your community can do for them.
It deepens family connection to your community. Families who see their loved one engaged and honored in story sessions feel profoundly grateful for the environment you've created.

Trained for This Work. Adapted to Every Resident.

Memory care is not the same as assisted living. Our guides adapt to each person's condition, energy, and communication style.

Guides Who Understand Cognitive Impairment

We understand how memory loss affects conversation, pacing, and story retrieval. We know how to ask questions that unlock preserved long-term memories even in residents with significant decline.

Flexible Session Length

Sessions adapt to the resident's capacity on any given day: 15 minutes or 45, depending on energy, focus, and willingness. We never push past what's comfortable.

Familiar Topics Unlock Clarity

Long-term memories like childhood, early adulthood, and family moments are often more preserved than recent ones. We specialize in navigating there, drawing out stories the resident's own family has never heard.

Family Can Be Present

Family members are welcome to observe or participate. Many families find their loved one engages differently with a neutral guide, often opening up to stories that didn't surface in family visits.

Full Consent Protocol

We work with your clinical team and the resident's family representative to confirm appropriate consent for each participant. Privacy and dignity are central to how we operate.

Revenue Share for Your Community

Your community earns a revenue share for each family enrolled through your referral link, automatically tracked and paid directly to your organization.

A Growing Archive Before the Window Closes

Every session becomes part of the family's private archive. Even five or six sessions of a loved one in early-stage dementia, captured before significant decline, becomes something the family treasures forever.

Private Family Archive

Every session lands in a password-protected family portal. Listen from any device, share with any family member, keep for life.

Legacy Products

A memorial video, printed book, podcast, or keepsake ordered from the archive at any time, on the family's timeline, even after care ends.

Family Story Requests

Families submit topics and memories through the portal. Our guide brings them into the next session, helping shape what gets captured each month.

How the Memory Care Partnership Works

1

Introduction Call With Your Team

A 20-minute call with your clinical director, activities coordinator, or administrator. We walk through our approach with memory care residents, consent protocols, and how the program fits your existing care structure.

2

Partnership Agreement

A simple two-page agreement covering revenue share, session protocols, consent process, and how we interface with your care team. No exclusivity required.

3

Your Community Gets a Referral Link

We build a dedicated landing page for your community. Share it with families during move-in, in your family newsletter, or through care conferences. Enrollments are tracked automatically.

4

Sessions Coordinated With Your Care Team

We schedule sessions in coordination with your clinical team around care routines, optimal time-of-day windows, and any clinical considerations. We need only a quiet room.

5

Archive Grows. Families Are Grateful. You Earn.

Sessions accumulate in the family's private archive. Your community receives a revenue share for each enrolled family, paid automatically with no paperwork.

Memory Care Partnership FAQs

In many cases, yes. Long-term memories: childhood, career, family moments, are often preserved far longer than short-term memory. Our guides are trained to access these memories gently and effectively. We assess each resident individually.
This varies by individual. Generally, early and mid-stage residents are strong candidates. Late-stage residents may have limited capacity and we evaluate carefully, never conducting a session that isn't appropriate. Earlier is always better.
We work with the resident's legal representative or the family member who holds healthcare power of attorney. We confirm consent protocols with your clinical team and never begin a session without appropriate authorization.
Story sessions complement reminiscence therapy and life review practices already used in memory care. We're a preservation service, not a clinical intervention, but the overlap is real and the two work well alongside each other.
Our guides are trained to recognize distress cues immediately. If a topic causes agitation or sadness, we redirect or close the session. We also debrief with your care staff after any session where emotional difficulty arose.
Revenue share details are covered during the introduction call. Your community earns a percentage of each family's monthly subscription for as long as they remain subscribed, tracked automatically through your unique referral link.
